HAI is a research-oriented online magazine focusing on all facets of the commodity markets, from gold and oil to cotton and OJ futures. Our coverage targets institutional and individual investors alike.

We're currently looking for original, outside-the-box story ideas relating to current trends/events or new products in the commodities marketplace. Assignments vary in length between 1,000-1,500 words. We buy all publication rights, and publish stories on average 1-2 weeks after acceptance. Our compensation rates are competitive.

Some tips to help you in your submission:

• Writers must have a thorough understanding of commodities, the futures markets and ETFs. Pitches on noncommodity topics will be rejected.
• Writers work by assignment only. We do not accept unsolicited complete manuscripts.
• Do not send us reprints.
• Avoid queries that are too general. Ours is a sophisticated readership who want thoughtful, in-depth analysis, not the same old "buy gold now" advice they can read anywhere.
• We prefer pitches with a newsworthy angle, or a focus on a particular investment strategy or product.
